DETROIT, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Tasty turkeys might have gotten cold in the time it took the legendary singer Aretha Franklin to finish the national anthem on Thanksgiving in Detroit.

Franklin's 4:35 rendition of the pregame song set Twitter users' keyboards on fire.

The 'Queen of Soul' was the target of several remarks joking about just how long she piped out her beautiful rendition. Franklin, 74, began her signing career at 18-years-old.

"Aretha Franklin is pretty far up at the top of the list of folks who can take however long they want with the national anthem," ESPN's Dan Graziano wrote on Twitter.

Even Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Jameson Taillon chirped in about the performance.

"Thankful Aretha Franklin doesn't sing the Anthem when I pitch, pretty sure I would have to go back to the pen and warm back up #pipesthough," Taillon tweeted.

The Lions beat the Minnesota Vikings 16-13 to take control of the NFC North.
