The Atlanta Falcons ruled out running back Tevin Coleman and defensive end Dwight Freeney for Thursday night's game against the host Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Coleman leads the Falcons with six touchdowns (five running, one receiving) in seven games but will miss his second consecutive contest. Freeney tried to play through a quadriceps tear in Sunday's 33-32 win over the Green Bay Packers.

Terron Ward, who led the Falcons with 46 yards on six carries against the Packers, and Devonta Freeman will be in the backfield.

Freeney, who has three sacks this season, came into Sunday's game with a quad injury but had to leave after limited play.

Atlanta previously ruled out tight end Jacob Tamme with a shoulder injury.

Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones has been limited this week with a knee issue but is expected to play.

The Buccaneers officially ruled out running backs Doug Martin (hamstring) and Jacquizz Rodgers (foot), and defensive tackle Clinton McDonald (hamstring).

Martin suffered a setback in his recovery three weeks ago has now been ruled out for a sixth consecutive game. Rodgers sustained the injury on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.

The Bucs likely will go with a three-player backfield committee consisting of Peyton Barber, Antone Smith and Mike James.

Buccaneers wide receiver Russell Shepard (hip) is doubtful and defensive end William Gholston (bicep) is questionable. Shepard was limited and Gholston was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
