DENVER, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Although he initially denied a report Thursday that he was out for the season, C.J. Anderson is headed to injured reserve.

Anderson suffered a right meniscus tear Monday in the Denver Broncos' win against the Houston Texans. He missed practice this week and was originally expected to miss "at least a few weeks," according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The running back spent Wednesday seeking alternate opinions on the banged up knee.
Wednesday night MRI revealed Broncos' RB CJ Anderson did not tear his ACL, per source. Team expected to update his status today.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that Anderson did not tear his ACL, while NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Anderson told "people close to him" that he is out for the season.
