MIAMI, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Was your first round pick a bust?

You might now know that you made a bad decision during your fantasy football draft. But it's still not too late to recover. By making crafty trades and picking up key free agents, you can stay competitive through injuries and bye weeks.

QUARTERBACK

My top quarterback pickup this week is Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz. Wentz was also my top quarterback pick up last week, but if you didn't pick him up during his bye week, now you are in for a competition on the waiver wire. Wentz leads the 3-0 Eagles into a road match up against the Detroit Lions this week. The Lions have allowed the second most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. Wentz entered the bye week after throwing for 301 yards and two touchdowns against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is a top-10 play against the Lions. Brian Hoyer could be a sneaky pick up in Week 5, but only if you are desperate for a quarterback. Hoyer, who passed for 302 yards and two scores against the Lions last week, could keep the starting job even if Jay Cutler is healthy. This week he could be the starter again against the Indianapolis Colts.

RUNNING BACK

The Baltimore Ravens finally got a spark from its running back in Sunday's 28-27 win against the Oakland Raiders. Terrance West exploded for 113 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in the contest. He should be added in all leagues Wednesday and is in for another week as a low-end RB1 against the Washington Redskins. The Redskins are allowing the second-most fantasy points per game this season. Philadelphia Eagles running backs Wendell Smallwood and Darren Sproles also deserve looks off of your waiver wire, especially in deeper leagues. Sproles is extremely valuable in PPR leagues. Before the Eagles' Week 4 bye week, he had six receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 against the Steelers. I look at him as a low-end RB2 this week in deep standard scoring leagues and in PPR leagues. Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Jacquizz Rodgers is probably still available in your league and worth a pick up this week. With Doug Martin out and a very iffy Charles Sims, he could be in for a big game on Monday Night Football against the Carolina Panthers.

WIDE RECEIVER

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Robert Woods showed a flash of what he can do this week in the absence of Sammy Watkins. With Watkins out long-term, look for Woods to become a favorite target for Tyrod Taylor. I see Woods as a WR3 for the rest of the season. The Bills face the somewhat stingy Los Angeles Rams in Week 5 action. But the Rams have allowed the most receptions to wide receivers this season, so Woods is a great option in PPR formats. You should have already picked up New York Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa. Enunwa is blossoming as a trusted Ryan Fitzpatrick target behind Brandon Marshall. Enunwa is on pace for 92 receptions this season and should be treated as a WR3 for the rest of the season, until Eric Decker returns.

TIGHT ENDS

Chicago Bears tight end Zach Miller has three touchdowns through four games in 2016 and eight scores in his previous 12 games. He is a proven red zone target and gets a lackluster Indianapolis Colts defense in Week 5. He is a must add if you are tight-end-needy and should be a top-12 play this week. If Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz was dropped before his bye week, you need to hurry up and add him. Ertz offers some starter-worthy weeks and solid depth if you are streaming tight ends. Ertz is benefiting from the terrific play of Wentz and seems to be ready for a full allotment of snaps after sitting out with a rib injury. Ertz is an every-week starter in most leagues this season.
