CHICAGO, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Chicago Bears running back Jeremy Langford isn't exactly exploding to kick off his 2016 campaign.

The dimly lit light he did have has now been extinguished.

Langford will miss 4 to 6 weeks with a sprained ankle, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. He had 31 carries for 116 yards and two scores through three weeks. Langford was carted off of the field in Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Rookie Jordan Howard is expected to see a bump in his workload with Langford out of the picture. I still think any Bears running back is a spot-start RB2 at best, due to the Bears' offensive deficiencies.

"I felt pretty good getting a lot of playing time and getting a lot of work," Howard told ESPN's Jeff Dickerson. "I definitely feel comfortable, because I try to take advantage of all the reps I get. Since I've been here, the other backs and veterans, they've been keeping me up and catching me up to speed."

Howard, 21, had four catches for 47 yards and nine carries for 45 yards against the Cowboys.

"To run the ball well it takes all 11 guys," Bears offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains told the Chicago Tribune. "That's what's different on offense than defense. Defense, it takes one guy to make a tackle. To gain 4 yards on offense, it takes 11 guys doing their job."
