CLEVELAND, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Browns' Robert Griffin III experiment took a detour Monday when the quarterback was placed on injured reserve.
Based on #Browns RG3 saying "I'm in pain," the way he moved, and fact he needed MRI today, I wouldn't be surprised if he sits out #Ravens

Griffin suffered a fractured coracoid bone in his shoulder Sunday. He will be re-evaluated in a month. The move means that Griffin is out for at least the first eight weeks of 2016. Griffin completed 12-of-26 passes for 190 yards and one interception in the 29-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He stayed in the game, despite the injury to his non-throwing shoulder.

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer initially reported she wouldn't be surprised if Griffin's injury forced him to sit out Week 2. ESPN's Adam Schefter later said that the injury is "potentially serious."
