MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- With only 12 days between now and its season opener, the Minnesota Vikings are in trouble.

The 2015 NFC North champions watched quarterback Teddy Bridgewater go down to a non-contact knee injury Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

"The Vikings just called off practice after 25 minutes, when Teddy Bridgewater went down on a non-contact play. Trainers immediately rushed to Bridgewater's side, while players dropped to one knee in prayer," ESPN's Ben Goessling reported.

The injury, occurring at Tuesday's practice, "looks serious," according to Star Tribune Vikings beat reporter Matt Vensel.

Vensel also reported that an ambulance later arrived for Bridgewater at the Winter Park practice facility. Veteran Shaun Hill and Joel Stave are in line to take snaps in Bridgewater's absence.

Bridgewater, 23, was a 2015 Pro Bowl selection. He has completed 551-of-849 passes for 6,150 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions in two years with the Vikings. The University of Louisville product also has four career rushing touchdowns.
