SEATTLE, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Call it a brief homecoming.

Cornerback Brandon Browner was cut by the Seattle Seahawks Monday. The 32-year-old originally signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He went on to the Pro Bowl after a great rookie season. After three years in Seattle, Browner landed with the New England Patriots.

He was a member of the Patriots' 2014 Super Bowl winning squad before landing with the New Orleans Saints.

Last season, Browner ranked as Pro Football Focus' worst cornerback. As a member of the Saints, he set the NFL record for most penalties in a season.

In July, Pomona, California police were investigating Browner for an alleged assault, according to TMZ. It was later determined that Browner would not be charged after allegedly punching his girlfriend's father, according to Pro Football Talk.
