OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- In another move indicating Mark Davis' desire to move his Oakland Raiders team to Sin City, the team filed for the "Las Vegas Raiders" trademark on Aug. 20.

There are three live trademark applications filed on that date for the mark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. There are six additional trademark applications for those terms filed at different dates by other parties.

The trademark filings cover the Las Vegas Raiders likeness on Christmas tree ornaments, jigsaw puzzles, decorative windsocks, kites, football related equipment, and many more items.

As Forbes' Darren Heitner wrote: "Timing of the filing of these trademark applications is important to note. Recently, U.S. Senator Harry Reid expressed his support for the creation of a Las Vegas domed stadium that would host the Raiders. The plan to create such a stadium is currently under review by the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee."

In May, Davis told NFL Network that moving the team to Los Vegas would "unite Raider Nation."

"I'm excited about it," Davis told NFL Network. "It's a new market. It's got the potential to be a really exciting market...The Raider fan in Northern California get upset a little bit when we talk about going to Los Angeles, and the L.A. fans get a little ticked off at the fans in Northern California, so it seems like Las Vegas is a neutral site that everybody's kind of bought into. It will unite the Raider nation more than divide it."
