OXNARD, Calif., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- NFL general managers are talking and ESPN's Ed Werder is listening.
Werder reported Thursday that GM's around the league told him that they have "heard a rumor" that the Dallas Cowboys "would consider trading" offensive lineman La'El Collins for a defensive end. Werder asked the Cowboys about the rumor and the team responded: "That's stupid."
Cowboys LG Ron Leary said he still wants a chance to start. Still open to a trade: "That feeling on my end hasn't changed at all."

Collins, 23, became the Cowboys' starting left guard in October.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport said Thursday that the New Orleans Saints are eying Cowboys offensive lineman Ronald Leary. Rapoport said the Saints "have pursued him to no avail over the past few months."

Collins signed a three-year, $1.5 million deal last May. Leary, 27, is due $2.5 million this season and a free agent in 2017.

Leary told the Dallas Morning News Thursday that he still wants a chance to start and that he is still open to a trade. Leary is one of the top run-blocking guards in the league.
