Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory is reportedly facing a longer suspension due to another violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy, according to multiple reports.

Gregory reportedly would miss the first 10 games of this season due to his latest violation. He was previously handed a four-game suspension earlier this offseason.

According to ESPN, Gregory checked into an undisclosed treatment center. It is unclear when Gregory will report to training camp.

It isn't yet known whether Gregory's latest violation was for a failed test or a missed test. A missed test is treated the same as a failed test.

The Cowboys will be slim at defensive end without Gregory. They chose not to re-sign controversial Greg Hardy, while DeMarcus Lawrence (team-high eight sacks last season) will missed the first four games due to a suspension for violating the substance abuse policy.

Also, Dallas linebacker Rolando McClain will miss 10 games for violating the substance abuse policy.

Gregory entered the league's substance abuse program after testing positive for marijuana at the 2015 NFL scouting combine. The Cowboys selected him late in the second round with the 60th overall pick.

He played in 12 games last season as a rookie and didn't record a sack.
