"I've got some news to share with you guys, football is over," Jennings said. "I'm done. No more big hits. No more 'touchdown, Greg Jennings.' At least in the lines of the football field."

"The past 20 years of my life has been football but today that all changes," Jennings said in the video.

"This smile is not going to be removed, it's going to be enhanced. The same dedication, the same work ethic that I put into pursuing that sport, this game, I'll be pursuing everything else with the same mindset."

Jennings had just 19 catches for 209 yards and one score last season with the Miami Dolphins.

"Physically I know I can do it, I can still play...I've been training hard...but I feel like as though I would be going back to football instead of moving forward," Jennings said.

Jennings, 32, played from 2006 to 2012 with the Green Bay Packers. He then signed a five-year, $45 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings. But the Vikings cut him after two seasons, paving his trail to Miami.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection had 571 receptions for 8,291 yards and 64 touchdowns in his career.
