Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Cody Kessler has signed a four-year contract, the club announced Thursday.
Kessler, a third-round pick, reportedly received a $3.4 million deal with $1.1 million guaranteed.
Kessler played at USC and finished his college career ranked third in school history in touchdown passes (88) and fourth in passing yardage (10,339).
Kessler is one of five quarterbacks on the Cleveland roster.
"I'm still learning," Kessler said earlier this week after an OTA session. "I haven't thought about when I'm getting reps or where I'm getting reps. I just know when I get in there I want to make the most of every opportunity I have."
Cleveland also signed free-agent kicker Patrick Murray and released receiver David Richards.
