NEW ORLEANS, March 9 (UPI) -- Coby Fleener fled Indianapolis for New Orleans Wednesday, signing a five-year deal with the Saints.
The tight end was the odd-man-out in Indianapolis, after the team gave big bucks to fellow tight end Dwayne Allen. The Saints forked out $36 million for the 27-year-old, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The Colts selected Fleener in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. In four seasons, he has 183 receptions for 2,154 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Fleener wrote Twitter messages addressing both the Colts and Saints Wednesday.
