CINCINNATI, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- One of the deepest NFL rosters could take a hit this offseason.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Mohamed Sanu has "virtually no chance" to re-sign with the team, according to FOX Sports.

The free agency signing period starts March 9.

"We're just being patient," Sanu told me on SiriusXM NFL Radio, on talks with his agent, Mike McCartney, and the team. "You never know as the next couple weeks heat up. We'll see what happens."

Sanu, 26, could be one of the top wide receiver targets in free agency.

He was selected No. 83 overall by the Bengals in the 2012 NFL Draft. The Rutgers product failed to catch a touchdown this season, but used his dynamic skill set to rush for a score. He also has two career passing touchdowns of 50 yards or more. Sanu started just four games this season, managing 33 receptions for 394 yards. In 2014, Sanu had 56 receptions for 790 yards and five touchdowns.

CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported last week that Sanu "ranks high" on the New York Giants' wish list.
