Eli Manning explains pout after Denver Broncos' Super Bowl score

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- A luxury box packed with Mannings was mostly jubilant, juxtaposed to a somewhat stoic Eli Manning reaction during one Super Bowl play.

While older brother Peyton Manning was quarterbacking the Denver Broncos to the Super Bowl 50 victory over the Carolina Panthers Sunday at Levi's Stadium, a camera caught Eli Manning wearing a different expression. The Broncos scored and converted a two-point conversion to take a 24-10 lead late in the game. As the camera zoomed up into the box, all of the Manning clan clapped hands, screamed, and smiled, except Eli, who stood beside his father, Archie, staring blankly without a flinch.

"I was just focused on whether they'd go for two and uh, the defense had to step up and make some stops," Eli told TMZ on Tuesday.

Eli Manning, 35, led his older brother two Super Bowl rings to one before Sunday. Eli was selected No. 1 overall in the 2004 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers, before being traded to the New York Giants. He has made four Pro Bowls, while passing for 44,191 yards, 294 touchdowns and 199 interceptions in 185 career games.

The Indianapolis Colts selected Peyton, a 14-time Pro Bowl selection, seven-time First-Team All Pro, and five-time MVP, first in the 1998 NFL Draft. Peyton has passed for an NFL record 71,940 yards and 539 touchdowns in 266 career games.
