NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice goes undercover as Lyft driver, but no one notices

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- The G.O.A.T. tried his hands at another profession before Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday.

NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice took the codename 'Jay,' while donning a beanie and sunglasses around San Francisco for his new job as a Lyft driver.

"See what happens when Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice turns on Driver Mode for a day and takes a few unsuspecting Lyft passengers for a ride around town," the Lyft YouTube account says.

Even though Rice asked several of his passengers which team they favored, none of them recognized the all-time great.

Rice began the stunt by asking one of his partners "do you think this is a giveaway?" He was referring to his Super Bowl ring, which he later took off.

One of his passengers even proclaims himself as a "big Niner guy."

Rice won three Super Bowls with the 49ers between 1989 and 1995.

"I'm not really into sports man," Rice says in the video. "I played a little football in high school. I loved it but I was not able to take it to the next level."

At the end of the video, Rice says: "I'm Jerry Rice. Hall of Famer."

Rice also is a 13-time Pro Bowl and 10-time NFL First-Team All-Pro selection. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010.

Rice, 53, played 16 seasons in San Francisco and still holds nearly every major NFL receiving record.
