SEATTLE, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- An astounding amount of NFL injuries has tempered fans this season. Adding to the pile of banged-up talent is Marshawn Lynch. The Seattle Seahawks running back is now ailing with a sports hernia injury. Lynch sat out Sunday's 29-13 victory against the San Francisco 49ers.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told reporters that Lynch, 29, would go to Philadelphia to have his abdominal injury looked at by Dr. William Meyers.
If Meyers confirms the sports hernia diagnosis, and Lynch has surgery, he would miss the remainder of the season, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Carroll says RB Marshawn Lynch (abdomen) is on his way to Philadelphia to be evaluated.
