CLEVELAND, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Browns unveiled a portion of their new "Dawg Pound" branding on Tuesday, showing off brighter colored orange on their primary logo and revamped dog design for the alternate.

"Our updated helmet logo is reflective of today's modern Cleveland -- the design honors the past while evolving into the future," says the Browns' official website.

The team's old shade of orange was more traditional, close to the burnt orange used by the University of Texas Longhorns. The new orange is brighter with a neon hue, similar to the accent color used by the Denver Broncos since 1997. The Browns' alternate logo has also been updated, with the realistic looking hound replaced with a stylized cartoon reminiscent of Boston University's branding. The aceenting brown will remain the same as in years past.

"The Dawg Pound represents one of the most iconic fan bases in all of sports. The Dawg Pound is a unifying identity of all Cleveland Browns faithful. It's tough and exemplifies the 'Play Like A Brown' attitude."
