NEW YORK, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- As the New York Knicks continue to fleece big names and big contracts, it became evident that Amar'e Stoudemire would be moving on. On Monday, the 32 year old agreed to a buyout and on Tuesday he committed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks, according to RealGM.
Stoudemire's minimum deal with the Mavericks will pay him $477,150, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
The signing will not be official until 4 p.m. CT Wednesday when Stoudemire clears waivers.
Stoudemire signed a five-year, $99,743,996 contract on July 8, 2010 and was due $23,410,988 this season.

After averaging more than 20 points per game in his final four seasons in Phoenix, Stoudemire averaged more than 20 points per game in just his first season out of five seasons in New York. Stoudemire started just 35 of 130 games the last three seasons in New York.
Stoudemire penned a poem on Instagram as a parting gift for fans.
