June 24 (UPI) -- NBA All-Star Klay Thompson might want to stay behind the 3-point line after face planting on his latest dunk attempt.

The Golden State Warriors shooting guard was recently at an event in China where he showed off several of his best slams.

On one attempt he took a dribble inside the paint on the outdoor court. He jumped up and did a 360-degree turn, before trying to throw the ball in the hoop with his right arm.

It didn't go well.

Thompson's attempt slammed into the rim, sending him straight toward the ground. He rolled around a few times before a hoard of onlookers came to check his health status.

Internet trolls took notice of Thompson's basketball blunder, retweeting the video with several jabs aimed at the sharpshooter.

The three-time All-Star averaged a career-high 22.3 points per game this season for the world champion Warriors. He averaged a career-low 15 points per game in the playoffs and scored 16.4 points per game in the 2017 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The No. 11 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft is entering his seventh season with the Warriors.

Thompson, 27, is signed with the Warriors through 2018. His teammate, and 2017 NBA Finals MVP, Kevin Durant is expected to decline his player option for next season to make it easier for the Warriors to re-sign Andre Iguodala. Stephen Curry's contract also expires this summer.
