June 16 (UPI) -- Kyrie Irving might not have won the NBA Finals, but he did win Father's Day by remodeling his dad's house.
Irving recently teamed up with his sister Asia and the Houzz app to fix up the West Orange, N.J. property.
"What makes a home for me is there's an emotional connection, some memories, warmth and the people in it," Irving said in a video for the project.

Irving said that his dad, Drederick, gave up his basketball career to support his family.
Drederick averaged 15.8 points per game in four seasons for Boston University. He posted 19.9 points per game during his senior season in 1987. Kyrie was born in 1992 while his dad was playing pro basketball in Melbourne, Australia.
"It's his first house," Irving said in the video. "I think he wants it to be his only house. This is where I grew up, and I respect him even more for wanting to keep it. But I know there's always things he wants to improve on in the house."
Designer Jules Duffy traveled to Irving's home in Cleveland to help the All-Star pick fixtures, tiles and more.
Irving's dad comes home to the reveal and says he is "speechless."
Irving gives many of his trophies to his dad. Drederick had them all in a room in the house before the renovation.
Asia decided to secretly work on the trophy room to surprise both her brother and father.
On the day of the reveal, the group walks through the home before ending up in the trophy room.
"I didn't know you were keeping all this stuff," a tearful Kyrie said. "It's not so much [the trophies], it's about the relationship I have with my dad."
Two of those 'Uncle Drew' trophies include an All-Star Game MVP award and the 2011 NBA Rookie of the Year award. The four-time All-Star was the New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior at St. Patrick's High School before landing at Duke. He averaged 17.5 points per game in his only season with the Blue Devils before becoming the top pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. Irving teamed up with LeBron James for his first NBA championship in 2016. His father also has that ring.
"My dad gave up his dream for my sister's dreams and my dreams," Irving said. "He knew that from the beginning. It's incredible to see that he has every single trophy."
