May 27 (UPI) -- Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal showed off what is inside his size-22 shoes this week, horrifying basketball fans everywhere.
"Diesel" ripped off his kicks Thursday while on the set of TNT's coverage of the Cleveland Cavaliers' Game 5 win against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals.
"What is that thing where your big toe should be?" TNT co-host Ernie Johnson said. "It looks like a baked potato and four toes!"
"That's disgusting," co-host Charles Barkley said.
The big reveal set Twitter on fire, with critics saying that Shaq's big toe has a toe of its own and saying it looked like his toe was doing the dab.
"When you're trying to watch the #ECF AND THEN @SHAQ TAKES OFF HIS SHOES," Kevin Garnett's KGArea21 Twitter account tweeted.

Even Shaq's son Shareef got in on the fun. Shareef, who has a bright basketball future ahead at the University of Arizona, fired off several tweets.
"Whoever saw my dads toes on TV, I'm sorry," he tweeted.
"But they aren't fake. I wish they were," O'Neal tweeted a doubter.
"Just think about it...I've been seeing his toes for 17 years... I've been scarred," O'Neal wrote.

Other viewers balked at why a man who made nearly $300 million in on the court salary during his career hasn't had his toes cleaned up a bit.
