Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert will be sidelined for Game 2 their Western Conference first-round playoff series against the host Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night, the Salt Lake Tribune reported on Monday.

The 24-year-old Gobert, a 7-foot-1 center from France, sustained a hyperextended left knee only 11 seconds into the series opener, which the Jazz rallied to win 97-95 on Saturday.

"Gobert's status going forward will be determined game by game," Tony Jones of the Tribune wrote. "The Jazz big man is walking without crutches, which is encouraging. At the same time, healing the knee is expected to take some time."

An MRI exam showed no structural damage to the knee.

Derrick Favors, who had 15 points and six rebounds for the Jazz in Game 1, is expected to replace Gobert in the starting lineup.

Gobert, who also plays on the French national team, averaged 14.0 points, 12.8 rebounds and an NBA-leading 2.6 blocked shots per game this season.

Game 3 is scheduled for Friday night in Salt Lake City.
