March 23 (UPI) -- How many delicious candy bars add up to 5,136 calories?

If you guessed 24, you are correct. That's also the amount of chocolate bars basketball star Dwight Howard used to eat everyday for nearly a decade. ESPN's Baxter Holmes included that nugget in his article this week regarding the NBA's adoration for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Howard also ate Skittles, Starbursts, Rolos, Snicks, Mars bars, Twizzlers, Almond Joys, Kit Kats, and Reese's Pieces, according to the report. He stashed the candy all around his house. Howard had an intervention to ditch the sweets in 2013 while he was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Healthy-eating Howard would go on to make the All-Star Game for an eighth consecutive year the next season for the Houston Rockets. He hasn't been back since. This season, the 6-foot, 11-inch center is posting 13.1 points and 12.8 rebounds for his fourth NBA franchise, the Atlanta Hawks. For his career, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year has averaged 17.5 points and 12.7 rebounds per bout.

He made more than $167 million in his on-court career before this season. His current deal pays him north of $23 million annually.
