Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Joakim Noah is making an absurd $17 million this season while putting up 5.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.

Now the New York Knicks center is allegedly out for the year. Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday that Noah is expected to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery.

Noah, 32, was a two-time All-Star during his nine-year tenure for the Chicago Bulls. He joined the Knicks in July on a four-year, $72 million deal.

Noah started just two games last season for the Bulls. He has played more than 67 games in a season just once during his 10 year NBA career. The former Defensive Player of the Year had missed seven consecutive games because of a sore left hamstring.

The Knicks also waived point guard Brandon Jennings Monday.
