Memphis Grizzlies lock up veteran G Toney Douglas for 2 years

The Memphis Grizzlies announced Thursday that they have signed veteran guard Toney Douglas to a two-year contract.

The deal contains a team option for the 2017-18 season.

Douglas' second 10-day contract expired during the All-Star break. In 13 games with the Grizzlies this season, he is averaging 5.3 points and 2.2 assists in 16.8 minutes.

Douglas, who turns 31 in three weeks, originally entered the NBA as a second-round pick of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009. He made his debut with New York and in 384 regular-season games with the Knicks, New Orleans Pelicans, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings and Memphis, Douglas has averaged 7.7 points and 2.3 assists per game.
