Oakley was arrested on Feb. 8 after being ejected for a scuffle at MSG. He was later banned from the hallowed arena by Knicks owner James Dolan. The duo have been at odds for a long time, leading to a meeting and so-called 'truce' called by commissioner Adam Silver and including Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan. It was there that Dolan said he hopes Oakley "returns to MSG as his guest in the near future."

Before that intervention, Cavaliers star LeBron James, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, and activist Al Sharpton all voiced support for Oakley. James posted a photo of Oakley to his Instagram account at the heat of the skirmish.

Oakley, who was accused by the Knicks for having a drinking problem, has declined the Knicks' invitation to return to MSG.
