Carmelo Anthony: I've proven my loyalty to New York Knicks

Carmelo Anthony insists he remains loyal to the New York Knicks, even if the organization is no longer extending the same courtesy.

The nine-time All-Star said Sunday he hasn't considered waiving his no-trade clause despite rumblings that Knicks president Phil Jackson may be ready to move on from the former NBA scoring champion.

"I think I've proven that. I don't have to speak on that. I think I've proven that over the years, day in and day out," Anthony told ESPN.com after totaling 30 points and seven rebounds in a 108-107 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.

"Regardless of what's going on that's surrounding this team, any talk, anything I've still showed that me being here, coming to work, being professional, got to answer your guys' questions every day, got to deal with you all, I still remain positive about that. I don't think I have to prove that to anybody."

Charley Rosen, a confidant of Jackson, wrote a column for FanRag sports critiquing Anthony and stating the longtime star "has outlived his usefulness in New York."

"If that's the case, if that's where it's coming from, that side, I guess it's a conversation we should have," Anthony told reporters in response to the story. "If they feel my time in New York is over, I guess that's a conversation we should have."

Jackson and Anthony will meet in the next few days in attempt to smooth over the rift, ESPN reports.

Anthony, 32, is averaging 22.2 points and 6.0 rebounds through 41 games this season with the Knicks (18-24), who are currently 11th in the Eastern Conference standings.
