The Philadelphia 76ers assigned forward/center Nerlens Noel to the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League on Wednesday as part of the ongoing rehabilitation program for his left knee.

The 6-foot-11, 228-pound Noel has yet to appear in a game this season after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery last month,

Noel, 22, said Monday he is likely "a couple of weeks" away from returning to the Sixers' active roster.

"I think I'm in a good place right now to start building back up into game shape," Noel told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Last season, Noel averaged 11.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 67 games. The New Orleans Pelicans drafted Noel with the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and later traded his rights to the Sixers.

The 76ers also recalled guard Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot from their D-League affiliate.

Luwawu-Cabarrot, 21, was selected 24th overall by Philadelphia in the 2016 draft. He played 11 games with the 76ers this season, averaging 1.9 points in 5.9 minutes per contest.
