MIAMI, June 28 (UPI) -- Could Wade-County be a thing of the past?

If superstar Dwyane Wade doesn't re-sign with the Miami Heat it could be a reality.

According to an ESPN report, Wade will listen to offers from other teams this summer.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that Wade's "initial contract discussions have not produced a common ground between the parties."

Windhorst added that Wade's "representatives have made it known to multiple teams over the last several days that he will be on the market."

The Heat has been lumped into the teams in pursuit of Oklahoma City Thunder free agent Kevin Durant and is also attempting to bring back big man Hassan Whiteside.

Last summer, the thee-time NBA champion opted out of the last year of his deal, before signing a $20 million offer for one year. Wade, 34, could be looking to take advantage of the market as the NBA's salary cap is expected to raise this offseason. Wade averaged 19 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds last season.

Wade has played all 13 years of his career in Miami. His 74 games last season were the most he has played since 2011. The former NBA Finals MVP has never been the highest paid player on his team.

The Heat have about $40 million in cap space to sign the cast of free agents, but some high level maneuvering will be required.

"I don't know what to anticipate," Wade told the Miami Herald's Manny Navarro last month. "I don't pay myself. So, I can't anticipate anything being smooth. Like I said earlier in the year, I hope it is [smooth]. I hope everything for myself is quiet and everything works out the way I want it to, whatever that is. But, I have no control over that as much as people would think. You have no control how that is necessarily is going to go."

Last month, the Herald reported that it was the "Heat's preference" to sign Wade to another one-year deal.

Free agency begins Friday.
