SACRAMENTO, April 26 (UPI) -- "A new era of proud," is the statement the Sacramento Kings made upon the Tuesday release of new logos.

The Kings' freshest logos give a nod to the organizations past, even before its move to Sacramento in 1985. The franchise is one of the oldest in the NBA. It's new logo also pays homage to the team's Cincinnati Royals days.

The team offered several examples to its fans, featuring a purple lion and crown, a grey basketball, with KINGS written over it and SACRAMENTO written in a purple crown, a grey basketball with a purple crown and SAC written in the middle, and a purple lion meshed with a grey ball.

"When the Kings moved to Sacramento in 1985, the city was transformed. Today, we aim to do it again," Owner and Chairman Vivek Ranadivé said. "This brand kicks off a new era for our franchise as we move into the most technologically-advanced, most environmentally-friendly arena in the world. As Sacramento becomes the next great American city, this identity honors our heritage while moving us forward."

The Kings will move into the Golden 1 Center next season in downtown Sacramento.
