OAKLAND, Calif., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- The Golden State Warriors are on a roll of global proportions.

On Thursday, Warriors star Stephen Curry confirmed the Warriors popularity, reaching out to congratulate Barcelona's Lionel Messi on his 30 million Instagram followers.

Man, I cant believe you've hit 30 million followers on Instagram, Leo, " Curry said in an Instagram post.

"That's incredible. We've got to get you out to a dub's game sooner than later to help you celebrate. But in the meantime, I had to get you this No. 30 jersey, to celebrate all of your followers. I hope to get that No. 10 jersey in return, when I hit 10 million. Thanks boss."

Congrats @leomessi on 30 million!

Messi responded Friday to Curry's message with a post of himself holding up the white Warriors jersey.

"Thanks so much to the great Stephen Curry for sending me a signed jersey to congratulate me for reaching 30 million followers on Instagram," Messi wrote. "As soon as you get 10M I'll send you mine!"

Curry told the Sydney Morning Herald that he has similarities to the soccer star.

"We both have a creative style, a feel when you are out on the pitch or the court," Curry told the Sydney Morning Herald last month.

"I'm trying to do some fancy things out there with both hands, making crossover moves and having a certain flair to my game and that's definitely the style Messi has when he is out there in his matches."

"I love watching him play, I'm a big fan and he's the guy you watch play because you never know what he is going to do at any particular moment," Curry said.

"When he is on TV everyone is glued in because he can get the touch of the ball and something special can happen."

"You have to appreciate that kind of talent."

Curry is averaging a career-best 32 points per game and is 94 percent from the free throw line. Curry is also shooting at a ridiculous, career-high, clip of 45.9 percent from three-point range. Curry has already made 102 three pointers in just 20 games this season for the 20-0 Warriors.
