PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 30 (UPI) -- The Portland Police Department took to Twitter Thursday to, jokingly, announce a possible investigation into the robbery that is Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard's All-Star snub.
Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins and Lillard were widely considered the biggest names to be left off the two All-Star rosters.
Head coaches from the eastern and western conferences got to vote for two guards, three front court, and two players, regardless of position, but aren't allowed to vote for players on their own teams.
All-Star starters were announced last Thursday, for the game on Feb. 15 in New York City.
Golden State's Klay Thompson, Chicago's Jimmy Butler, Atlanta's Jeff Teague, Al Hortford and Paul Millsap, Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge, San Antonio's Tim Duncan, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, Houston's James Harden, Los Angeles Clippers' Chris Paul, Cleveland's Kyrie Irving, Miami's Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade joined the All-Star rosters Thursday.
In his third year, Lillard is having his best season yet, averaging 21.8 points, 6.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. Lillard is shooting 43 percent from the floor and 37 percent from three-point range for the 32-15 northwest division leading Trail Blazers.
We may have to open a robbery investigation into how @Dame_Lillard of our @trailblazers was left off the #NBAAllStarNYC roster. #VoteLillard
