June 28 (UPI) -- The contending New York Yankees will continue their youth movement this week and promote Miguel Andujar from Triple-A.

He will travel to Chicago for his big league debut, according to multiple reports.

Andujar, 22, hit .312 with eight home runs and 54 RBI in 74 games at the Triple-A and Double-A levels this season. He hit 12 home runs and had 83 RBI in 130 games last season in the minors. The right-handed third baseman had seven of his home runs and 52 RBI this season with the Double-A Trenton Thunder.

Yankees shortstop prospect Gleyber Torres had Tommy John surgery on Wednesday, meaning there will be plenty of room in the Yankees infield for some playing time at the big league and Triple-A levels.

Andujar is the Yankees' No. 9 prospect, according to MLB.com. He went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts and a walk on Monday, his last game with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in Triple-A.

The Yankees called up RailRiders shortstop Tyler Wade on Tuesday. Wade was hitting .313 with five home runs, 25 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 71 games for the RailRiders. The Yankees added three-time All-Star Starlin Castro to the disabled list on Tuesday after he suffered a hamstring strain in Monday's game.

Wade was 0-for-1 with a walk and a strikeout in his Major League Baseball debut. Wade might not start until Thursday, according to the YES Network.

New York also optioned right-handed pitcher Jonathan Holder to Triple-A and recalled Tyler Webb from Triple-A. The Yankees lost 4-3 Tuesday to the Chicago White Sox, slipping to second place in the American League East. It was the team's third loss in four games.
