June 19 (UPI) -- Columbia Fireflies outfielder Tim Tebow was on the wrong end of some expert trolling this weekend from the Charleston RiverDogs.
The RiverDogs won the series 2-1 by winning the final two games against the Fireflies at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Ballpark in Charleston, S.C. Tebow went 2-for-12, with four strikeouts and left eight runners on base during the series.
He is hitting .224 with three home runs and 21 RBI in 60 games this season for the Class-A affiliate of the New York Mets.
When Tebow wasn't at bat during the series, the RiverDogs made it known to fans, writing: "not Tim Tebow" on its scoreboard when another Fireflies batter was swinging.

"We're not sure who IS batting, but we're relatively sure it's not @TimTebow," the RiverDogs tweeted.
On Friday, the team also tweeted a photo of Tebow in the on-deck circle, writing: "Yes, that is Tim Tebow with a baseball bat in his hands. Now we believe it."
After singling on his first at-bat, the team put up a picture of Tebow crying, during his Florida Gators football career, on its scoreboard.

Charlie T. RiverDog showed off on his Twitter account with several trolls Saturday. One of them featured the furry mascot with Tebow's favorite bible verse written in eye black, similar to the way Tebow sported the verse during his football career. The mascot also 'Tebowed.'
Tebow let go of the baseball bat on one of his swings Saturday. After it flipped into the crowd, the RiverDogs' Twitter account tweeted a photo of the bat, writing: "Big thanks to the fan that donated this to us. We needed some fire wood!"
Tebow recently told The State newspaper that he owes his father for some of his determination.
"If you want to do it and you love it, it doesn't matter what anybody else says," Tebow said. "Go do it and he believes in me," Tebow said of his father's message about playing baseball. "You don't have to listen to what other people have to say."

The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner told Greenville Online last week that baseball helps him handle other aspects of life.
"It's so much about mental toughness," Tebow said. "Baseball really teaches you to be honest with yourself. All that I've been through in sports, the highs and the lows, the good the bad, all the fans cheering or booing, or the media circus, I think that's also helped me handle the different moments."
The Fireflies (40-28) missed a chance to clinch the division and a playoff spot on Sunday. The Greenville Drive clinched the first half title with a win against the Rome Braves.
