Bats on the way: Toronto Blue Jays activate Josh Donaldson, Troy Tulowitzki from DL

TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays activated third baseman Josh Donaldson and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki from the disabled list Friday before their game with the Texas Rangers.

Donaldson had been out since April 13 with a strained right calf and Tulowitzki had been out since April 21 with a strained right hamstring.

The Blue Jays had optioned outfielder Dwight Smith Jr. to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday after the game in Milwaukee.

They also optioned right-hander Cesar Valdez to Buffalo on Friday.
