Kansas City Royals reach agreement with OF-1B Brandon Moss

The Kansas City Royals agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract with slugger Brandon Moss, according to multiple reports Sunday.

The deal is expected to become official once Moss completes a physical this week, a source with knowledge of the signing confirmed to The Kansas City Star. The contract details were first reported by Yahoo Sports.

Moss, 33, has primarily played outfield and first base during his career, but he could be a possible left-handed option in the Royals' designated hitter rotation.

Moss spent the last two seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals, batting .225 with 28 homers and 67 RBIs in 128 games in 2016. He is a career. 241 hitter with 138 homers and 423 RBIs in 10 major league seasons.
