San Francisco Giants sign closer Mark Melancon

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Mark Melancon switched bullpens Monday when he agreed to a deal with the San Francisco Giants.

The right-handed closer will officially be a member of the Giants after taking his physical Monday, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.

According to MLB on FOX reporter Ken Rosenthal, Melancon's four-year deal is expected to be for $60 million to $65 million.

The 31-year-old saved 47 games while owning a 1.64 ERA in 75 games last season for the Washington Nationals.
