This summer, Griffey was nearly a unanimous choice for baseball's greatest honor, earning a record 99.3 percent of the vote. He will be the first retired player to be on the cover of the game. Toronto Blue Jays slugger Josh Donaldson was on the cover of last year's game.
Griffey is also a playable character in the game. The 'Hall of Fame edition' of the game includes a New Era hat and retails for $99.99. The standard edition retails for $59.99.
