SAN DIEGO, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Mike Dee is no longer a member of the San Diego Padres' baseball family.

The team and its president and CEO parted ways Wednesday, according to Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune. Dee worked for the team from 1995 to 2002 and was hired again as its president in 2013.

The Padres finished in last place in the National League West this season with a 68-94 record. The franchise hasn't plated a winning record since 2010.

"My goal and our organization's objective is to have stability and long-term tenure in our front office, but sometimes these changes are inevitable," Padres managing partner Peter Seidler said in a statement provided to the Union-Tribune. "Mike is no longer with the Padres, but I know our organization is strong and on the right path.

"[Padres executive chairman Ron Fowler] and I set forth the vision for the ball club and lead the strategic planning, in collaboration with our senior executives. We have a skilled group of professionals in the front office who will take on extra responsibility as we look to fill this position."

There was no reason given for the "parting of ways," according to Lin. Last month, MLB gave a 30-game suspension to Padres general manager A.J. Preller for withholding medical information from trade partners. Dee previously worked for the Miami Dolphins and the Boston Red Sox.
