Seattle Mariners acquire Chicago Cubs' Justin Ruggiano

SEATTLE, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Multiple sources are reporting that the Chicago Cubs have traded outfielder Justin Ruggiano to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for minor league reliever Matt Brazis.

Trade talks were first reported by Yahoo's Tim Brown.

Brazis has a 2.29 ERA in 100 appearances in the minors. The right-hander had a 1.64 ERA last year in Double-A. Ruggiano hit .281 in 250 plate appearances last year. The 32-year-old has a career .257 batting average in stints with the Tampa Bay Rays, Miami Marlins, and Cubs over six seasons.'

The trade has been confirmed from the Chicago Tribune's Paul Sullivan and Fox Sports' Jon Morosi.
