Ohio State dismissed running back Bri'onte Dunn on Monday for "violating team rules," but coach Urban Meyer did not provide any details. In a 911 call on Sunday obtained by the Columbus Dispatch, Dunn's girlfriend told the dispatcher: "My boyfriend hit me really bad."

The woman said that she briefly left her apartment after being struck in the mouth. When she returned, she said he "went crazy" when he saw the woman had her phone out, choked her and then left. The woman said she had a bloody lip and a black eye following the incident.

She filed for a civil protection order against Dunn on Monday, although no criminal charge had been filed as of Tuesday night.

Dunn, 23, earned a degree in sport industry from Ohio State in May and was expected to compete with redshirt freshman Mike Weber for the starting running back job following the departure of Ezekiel Elliott to the NFL.

The 6-foot, 215-pound Dunn rushed for 91 yards on 14 carries with one touchdown in a reserve role last season. His player profile remained on the Buckeyes website Wednesday.
