COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 16 (UPI) -- One stud defensive lineman out, one stud back in.

That has been the Ohio State Buckeyes' policy ever since the arrival of coach Urban Meyer.

Now the Buckeyes are doing it with the Bosa brothers. After the San Diego Chargers drafted Joey Bosa with the No. 3 pick in April's NFL Draft, his brother Nick Bosa arrived in Columbus. Bosa is one of the top recruits in the 2016 class.

But the transition from Fort Lauderdale's St. Thomas Aquinas to Columbus didn't go as smoothly as he would have liked. During his senior season, Bosa suffered a torn ACL and had surgery.

The 6-foot, 4-inch, 255-pound defensive end will not redshirt this season and is expected to be ready for preseason camp on August 7. He will continue to work out to combat the atrophy in his knee.

"You know that what he has that is in there," Buckeyes defensive line coach Larry Johnson told 247 Sports. "I've had a chance to work with Nicky at camps, I've spent some time with him, talked to him, we've really engaged. I think he has a chance to be a special player."

"He is so far ahead right now with his knee, it's ridiculous," Johnson told 247 Sports. "I think the doctor is even surprised by how far ahead he is. So now the thing is kind of slow him down, get him in here in June, don't push him too fast and the idea is to get him to camp in August healthy and see where it goes from there."

According to Max Preps, Bosa recorded 13.5 sacks in seven games during his senior season. He had 15 sacks as a sophomore.
