LOS ANGELES, May 24 (UPI) -- Timing is everything in comedy.

UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen had perfect timing Tuesday, when he posted about the school's $280 million deal with Under Armour.

Many pundits think that the fact that college athletes are still not paid, while universities continue to rake in millions of dollars off of their talents, is ironically comical.

Rosen's post of a screen shot of a Los Angeles Times graphic showing how UCLA's 15-year deal tops those of Ohio State, Texas, Michigan, and Notre Dame, includes the caption: "We're still amateurs though...Gotta love non-profits. #NCAA."

Rosen has since deleted the post.

As a freshman, Rosen passed for 3,669 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season for the Bruins.

The $280 million apparel deal, reported by the Los Angeles Times, is the largest in NCAA history.

"We knew that we were well-positioned to cut a deal," said Dan Guerrero, the UCLA athletic director, to the Times. "Under Armour came at us hard."

UCLA gets $15 million up front and $11 million annually in rights and marketing fees, according to the Times. Under Armour will provide clothing, shoes, and equipment, while contributing for upgrades at university facilities.

UCLA also sold its multimedia rights to WME/IMG with a 10-year, $145 million deal.
