4. Baylor (9-1) lost at No. 9 Oklahoma State (10-1) 49-17

5. Oregon (9-2) lost at Arizona (7-4) 42-16

6. Clemson (10-1) defeated Citadel (5-7) 52-6

7. Auburn (10-1) was idle.

8. Missouri (10-1) won at Mississippi (7-4) 24-10

9. Oklahoma State (10-1) defeated No. 4 Baylor (9-1) 49-17

10. Texas A&M (8-3) lost at No. 19 Louisiana State (8-3) 34-10
