TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Devonta Freeman ran for two scores and caught a TD pass Saturday, helping third-ranked Florida State pull away for a 41-14 win over No. 6 Miami-Florida.
Freeman compiled 78 rushing yards on 23 carries and also hauled down a 48-yard scoring strike for the Seminoles (8-0, 6-0 ACC), who broke open a close game with 20 unanswered points in the second half.
Jameis Winston passed for 325 yards on 21-of-29 efficiency as Florida State handed previously unbeaten Miami its first loss of the year and improved to 8-0 for the first time since its national championship season of 1999.
FSU notched its fourth straight win over the Hurricanes.
Stephen Morris hurled two TD passes to Allen Hurns en route to a 192-yard passing performance but was picked off twice for Miami (7-1, 3-1).
Duke Johnson rushed for 97 yards on 23 carries before leaving the game with an apparent leg injury.
