COLUMBIA, S.C., Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Connor Shaw threw four touchdown passes Saturday to lead 16th-ranked South Carolina to a 34-16 win over Mississippi State.
Shaw went 10-of-20 for 147 yards for South Carolina (7-2, 5-2 SEC) and hit Shaq Davis for a pair of TDs in the Gamecocks' 15th consecutive home win, which tied a school record set in 1978-1980.
South Carolina took a 17-3 lead at halftime and then tacked on another 17 points in the third quarter. The cushion easily withstood an 11-yard TD run by Dak Prescott for Mississippi State (4-4, 1-3) in the fourth quarter.
Prescott completed 28-of-43 passes for 235 yards for the Bulldogs, but he was intercepted three times. Mississippi State also lost two fumbles.
