MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Alabama and Oregon remain 1-2 in the USA Today coaches' poll and the ranks of the unbeaten have been whittled to eight teams.
There will be at least one fewer undefeated team next week after No. 3 Florida State plays host Saturday to No. 6 Miami (Fla.). Both are 7-0.
Eight Top 25 teams -- including five of the first nine -- have the week off as the 2013 season hits the two-thirds mark. Among those having Saturday free are No. 1 Alabama (8-0) and second-ranked Oregon (8-0). The Crimson Tide claim 56 first-place mentions, losing one first-place vote this week. The other six No. 1 votes go to the Ducks, who had four last week.
Baylor, Stanford and Oklahoma are also off ahead of the Nov. 7-9 week that is one of the biggest on the schedule. Oklahoma plays at Baylor and Oregon is at Stanford Nov. 7 and Alabama takes on No. 13 Louisiana State Nov. 9.

Auburn, unranked two weeks ago, makes another big move up, climbing six places to No. 11 while the biggest drops this week belong to No. 19 UCLA, which falls eight places, and Texas Tech, which is off six to No. 15.
Ohio State (8-0) is again fourth in the rankings ahead of No. 5 Baylor (7-0). Florida State is sixth followed by No. 7 Stanford (7-1) and eighth-ranked Clemson (7-1). Oklahoma (7-1) is voted ninth and Missouri (7-1) drops from seventh to No. 10.
After Auburn (7-1) comes Oklahoma State (6-1) in 12th and LSU (7-2). Texas A&M (6-2) takes the 14th spot and Texas Tech (7-1) is 15th.
South Carolina (6-2) improves four spots to 16th and Louisville (7-1) slips one to No. 17. Fresno State (8-0) stays at 18th with UCLA (5-2) at No. 19 and Northern Illinois (8-0) takes over the 20th position.
Michigan (6-1) is up two to 21st and is followed by No. 22 Central Florida (6-1) and Wisconsin (5-2) at No. 23. Michigan State (7-1) and Notre Dame (6-2) re-enter the rankings at Nos. 24 and 25, respectively.
Virginia Tech and Nebraska fall out of the rankings this week.
In addition to the Miami-Florida State game Saturday, Oklahoma State goes to Texas Tech and Michigan visits Michigan State in games pitting ranked teams against each other.
