WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Ameer Abdullah ran for 126 yards and one of five Nebraska rushing touchdowns Saturday in the No. 24 Cornhuskers' 44-7 win over Purdue.

Nebraska (5-1, 2-0 Big Ten) had 251 rushing yards to 32 for Purdue (1-5, 0-2).

The Cornhuskers' defense piled up five sacks and two turnovers, helping compensate for a forgettable day for quarterback Tommy Armstrong, who completed 6-of-28 passes for 43 yards and three interceptions.

Senior Ron Kellogg came off the bench to complete 10-of-13 passes for 141 yards and a fourth-quarter TD pass to Quincy Enunwa.

Danny Etling was 14-for-35 for 184 yards and a touchdown for Purdue. The Boilermakers lost their fifth consecutive game.
